Wojciech Niewrzol "Victor"

W. N. Victor, violinist and conductor, holds a double Master of Arts degree in Theory of Music and in Symphony Conducting from the Music Academy in Wroclaw, Poland where he received the highest honors under the guidance of the distinguished professor Marek Pijarowski. From 1984 to 1989, he served as music director and conductor for the Music Conservatory Orchestra and for the Academy of Music Orchestra in Wroclaw. Prior to these appointments, he served as associate conductor for various Polish national symphony orchestras. In 1990, Victor received critical acclaim at the Baroque Music Festival in Belgodere, France. In the following years he has collaborated with a multitude of symphonic and chamber orchestras throughout Poland, Italy, Switzerland and France. From 1989 to 1996, he performed with the Italian Symphony Orchestra in Milan. In 1994, he also became the director and conductor of the Naperville Chamber Orchestra and in 1996, the conductor of the Paderewski Symphony Orchestra.

With a strong commitment to music education, Victor has had a significant impact on the lives of young people. In his belief that music can positively affect minds, improve the quality of life and, when taught from child, open doors to new worlds, he started the PaSO Academy, which has quickly grown to over 130 students, and where he is Executive Director to this day.

Music has been with me my whole life ot the point where I can't imagine one without the othre. It has made me a stronger and better person. When I'm with my students, I try to show them that music is an entire world to discover. In the words of Leonard Bernstain, one of the true masters and a bottomless source of inspiratio to me and millions of others, 'More than loving to teach, I love to watch people learn. That's really the joy of it'."

W.N. Victor

"While the program made these concerts unusual, it was the quality of the combined orchestra and its conductro Wojciech Niewrzol that made news. Sunday afternoon at Orchestra Hall, Niewrzol led performances that held their own. The young Polihs conductor who has extensive experience with early music, led readings of difficult works that were bothlively and disciplned."

He has been involved in much teaching in the area of young people interested in becoming professionals in an orchestra. His ability to relate is very impreseive because of his diligence inhelping people be creative with their natural gifts of music."
